Welcome!  I&#039;m glad that you&#039;re interested in learning more, and that you&#039;ll be trying out the pushing technique.

Given what you said about your dog getting nervous and stressed when distracted, I think that you&#039;ll find pushing to be very helpful.  Once you have it down pretty well in a more-or-less distraction-free environment, you can start using it as a way to focus your dog on YOU during more emotionally charged moments.  Pushing helps teach your dog not only to feel safe interacting with you directly in those moments, but also giving her a context for &lt;em&gt;how&lt;/em&gt; to focus on you during those moments - i.e. you&#039;re giving her a healthy outlet for her energy.
