Neil Sattin Interviews in Toronto on Tuesday and Buffalo on Wednesday
September 29th, 2009 by NeilTweet
Are you in the Toronto area? I’m going to be on CP24′s Animal House Calls show at 5 PM on Tuesday, September 29th 2009 to talk about…you guessed it…Natural Dog Training! Are you in the Buffalo area? On Wednesday September 30th I’m going to be on WIVB-4 in Buffalo, New York at 7:45 AM. There will probably be dogs in the studio for both of these shows, which will certainly be *interesting*! Just another couple opportunities for some of you to hear more information about Natural Dog Training…live! OK – enough exclamation points already…
This is my first time on the road away from the family. What an odd experience, as we pretty much live and breathe each other day in and day out. I found a little white car in the pocket of my sweatshirt, a little reminder of Dash, and his love of cars and trucks, along with his selective generosity (he actually set this car aside for Zella to play with). Thankfully I’ll be home soon – with at least a couple of weeks before it’s time to get on the road again.
Here in Toronto I’ve been enjoying time with my host Jessica Porter (note: she was actually at the birth of my son, Dash). Today we hit TWO vegetarian restaurants (yes, I went back to being veggie about 3 months ago) – and enjoyed a wide assortment of foods: seitan, tempeh, seaweed, barley, veggies, sauces, mango, jicama. And chocolate. And more. Quite a change from the soul food options at Mary Mac’s Tea Room in Atlanta (where I did what the Dalai Lama must have done – ate the sweet rolls, and steered clear of the pork rinds).
It seems that no matter where I go, when I tell people about what I’m doing they’re all very interested in this “new way” of looking at how dog’s work. It makes for some very entertaining conversations – almost everyone has a dog story to share (or a dog-of-a-friend-who’s-really-the-one-that-needs-the-work story to share). Of course when you’re talking about dogs and their emotional experience, and humans and THEIR emotional experience, it really opens people up to talking about what really matters to them. And those conversations, whether they’re in Toronto, in Atlanta, or Maine – those are the ones that make it all worthwhile.
Hope to see you on-air tomorrow, and the day after – Peace!
