All About Dog Training Blog Carnival 1st Edition

September 7th, 2007 by Neil

Welcome to the 1st edition of the all about dog training blog carnival.  It’s an exciting moment here at naturaldogblog – an experiment come to fruition.

Now, I have to be honest here – I only got ONE submission (other than the article I just wrote for this blog carnival edition).  Not exactly the huge turnout I was expecting – so I might actually solicit articles for the next edition directly from training blogs.

Also, the one submission that I got has almost nothing to do with dog training.  :)

However, it is an interesting tale about dogs and our relationship with them, told by someone half-way around the world – and worth a read, especially in the spirit of blog carnivaling (it does mention ”pus” however, so don’t be squeamish)!

Featured articles are as follows:

Sidhusaaheb presents A friend indeed posted at I, Me, Myself.  This is the article I was just telling you about.  Check it out, and let Sidhusaaheb know that you found him from this blog carnival!

For this blog carnival edition, I wrote the following article: Dog Training: One great workout that teaches your dog to fetch and come to you enthusiastically posted at Natural Dog Training Blog.  It’s a new game, an extension of our discussion about tug-of-war, that you can play with your dog.  Playing this game will give your dog some great exercise, while play training them into being more and more attracted to you at higher levels of emotional energy.

Thanks for coming to the first edition of the “All About Dog Training” Blog Carnival.  We’ll make the next edition even cooler!

Dog Training Blog Carnival

August 24th, 2007 by Neil

Over the past week I’ve given you some lengthy posts about the technique of pushing with your dog, both the how and the why.  In the interest of not totally overwhelming you with information (and yet still wanting to post), I’ve decided to post a call for submissions for a dog training centered blog carnival.  In case you missed them, here is the link to the post on how to push, and here is the link to the post on why to push.

This carnival will be completely devoted to questions and answers about training dogs, as well as exploring solutions to some common (and not-so-common) doggie issues.  If you are a dog trainer with a blog, or someone who’s successfully overcome a problem with your dog, this carnival is for you.

If you’re looking for training advice, then the blogs that post to this carnival will be a great resource for you.

So, for all you who qualify out there, please feel free to submit your blog posts for consideration by the 5th of each month, for publication on the 7th of each month.  That means that September 5th, 2007 will be our first deadline.  I look forward to hearing from you.  E-mail your submissions, along with a summary of your post if possible, to

carnival at naturaldogblog dot com, or visit: the link to the all about dog training carnival on blogcarnival.com

If you know of a trainer who might be interested, feel free to pass along the link as well.

I look forward to hearing from you!
