Smile Conference call with LCK and NS

I want to post about the conference call with Lee and Neil on Tuesday or Wednesday (I can't remember! Old age settling in).

A couple of great suggestions regarding Tucker's fence fighting. Since fence fighting is only done when Buddy Rodella (menace neighbor dog) is involved, and otherwise Tucker is doing really well, I shouldn't spend too much time worrying about it - at least it's a safe venue for his energy). That was from Neil. After Lee's suggestion of the Frankenstein game, I realized that I don't "play" enough with Tucker. Sure, I play tug when he brings me the toy, but I wasn't initiating a game of play very often. Just in the last few days since the call, I've been initiating a game of chase several times a day (or whenever we are in the yard). The Frankenstein game works really well. And we've been working on extended down stays using the picnic table as our box. His pushes are getting harder, too, and the other day, he pushed on his own while there was some commotion happening outside the fence with some humans and a dog in distress. He didn't bark at the dog, just came over for a push. I took that as a good sign.

Yes, that's a very good sign! Dogs tend to appreciate it when you initiate play with them...
