Hi
I'm Chris and have two lovely Long Haired GSD's Zeke & Ty and we live in Taupo NZ. How I came across NDT is a long story but the short version is 2.5 yrs ago I picked up new pup Ty to be told he had been beaten up in the litter by another pup, at the time I didn't think much of it but within a week it became clear Ty feared all dogs and was highly reactive. Even as a young pup he would bark and lunge at any strange dog and so began by quest to help both myself and Ty handle what I thought was aggression. What a shock it was going from having dogs I could take anywhere, no collars no leads welcome wherever we went, to this pup who I couldn't trust for a moment. I admit I didn't handle it well to start with which didn't help either of us. So many dollars, books and DVD's later and thousands of hours of confusion on dog training methods and I one day came across Neil's site which opened my eyes. I got Kevin's book which I found parts of it hard work and will admit the so called 'shocking' etc was off putting to start with when you can't be shown how it works. I drifted away from NDT for a bit after 'another idea' but have come back to it 100% now and I'm working hard to understand the ideas behind it and getting rid of 20 yrs of dominance ideas out of my head. I was so happy two days ago when Neil's DVD turned up, oh the power of been able to see pushing etc done it has made it all so much clearer. I thank you Neil for the work you have put into the DVD to help the likes of myself & Ty and now this forum where I know there will be any great ideas and help. Look forward to chatting with folks using NDT. Cheers Chris Zeke & Ty http://www.airchartertaupo.co.nz/bearzeke/ |

Thanks for introducing yourself, and I'm glad to hear that things are going well with the DVDs so far. I just sent out a copy to Australia as well, so perhaps a visit to your corner of the world will be in order at some point?
Hope so! |
