Another canuck

Hi
my name's Ron, born and raised in a small town in manitoba canada. I just got my first dog since my childhood last saturday. She's a black German shepherd 8months old. She's a bit skittish around new faces and places , but warms up after a couple visits. good around other dogs and cats. shes chased rabbits and has been a help getting the deer out of my yard. If i can train her myself, I dont think there will be an end to the things i'd like to teach her.

I just picked up a copy of Natural Dog Training. it's been a joy reading it so far. its easy to pickup and read.
I found reviews of yours Lee on amazon while i was doing research on other dog books. with your suggestions i think my chances of understanding her language and bonding with her greatly increase as well as her self-confidence should pick up (shes quite shy). Smart as hell though. i love German shepherds.
