Default Prey Training Videos

I was just wondering if anyone has seen Ivan Balabanov's video's Dog Training Videos - Dog Training Videos and if they are worth getting?

You can probably get more bang for your buck with other training videos. I found them to be expensive, difficult to watch (as in he goes fast without much explanation).

Many thanks for that, any suggestions on what other ones are worth a watch?

Most of them are probably worth the watch, just not the purchase :-) I guess it all boils down to what you are wanting to do (Schutzhund?). As far as Ivans videos (and I only watched first two) the first one talked about how to issue commands/ques, the second one talked about "the game" which is basically tug. Most of the video was spent going over the game rules which are the game rules for tug you see everywhere.. human initiates, human stops playing if teeth make contact .etc.. I did not find much in the way of new material on those two videos justifying the cost ($70.00 per dvd...there are 4 in the set).

If I had cash to blow on more dog training videos Leerburg's Building Drive and Focus Series with Michael Ellis would probably be my next purchase, but I would want to see some reviews first.

Default looking elsewhere

Chris, does that mean that everything on the Natural Dog Training DVD set is old hat for you now?

Thanks James that's a big help as $70 USD is over a $100 NZD for me plus freight so I won't waste my money.

I had looked at the Leerburg video's before NDT but just some of his material and things he says didn't sit well with me so I gave that idea up.

As we say here in Kiwiland Neil "Yeah Right" (meaning not likely) NDT and the DVD "old hat" can you EVER imagine that

I'm so enjoying the bite work with Ty I'd just love to take it up a level or two for him but without a Schutzhund club here it's not easy to think up different things on my own. So just looking for video's that show different exercises I can do with him, really starting to get some good deep barks from him these days, never thought I'd enjoy hearing Ty bark as he always used to high pitch 'yap' but I love his "police dog" barks

Yep, I wouldn't spend too much money on the videos you can get better bang for the buck with books, the best would be a club, not close to:
The New Zealand United Schutzhund Club ?

How old are your boys?

Oh and as for books..(in addition to NDT ;-) here are a few I have checked out that are good for Schutzhund training:

Top Working Dogs: A training manual by Dietmar Schellenberg covers training in the tracking obedience and protection phases of the schutzhund sport.
Schutzhund Obedience: Training in Drive - This one is supposed to be really good, I am waiting on my copy to arrive tracking# says tomorrow :-) this one is also a little hard to find, it is way overpriced on Amazon and says it is out of print, www.dogwise.com has it for about half the price you may even find it cheaper elsewhere.

Sadly no, many hours driving away and since I work 7 days I really need a club locally and there is no chance in that happening
