Default Feeding Pouch

We're using a nail pouch. However, it's held together with rivets which create food-traps and creases— all of which make it hard to clean and retrieve handfuls of food smoothly and quickly. Also, it's oversize for one meal and heavy. I'd like to see something produced (or recommended) that is more exactly suited to the task. Thanks.

Default Cheap Feeding Pouch

Hi Cliff, I haven't been able to find the nail pouch that Neil and Kevin use. I'm still on the lookout, but in the meantime I use 77 cent Home Depot fabric nail pouches. If I put it on so it rests on my hip and is centered over my hip it is pretty easily accessible. It turns inside out easily for food unloading and can be washed when needed.

Default what I currently use

I use a leather single pocket nail pouch from Ace Hardware. So if there are any local Ace Hardwares, you could probably find it. I don't worry about the cleaning - just empty it out when I'm done. And get a new one when necessary.

HOWEVER - Cliff! I thought you were going to design one!?

Default Light-washbable-cinchable

Here's a nice travel dog bowl that can be 'hacked' to be a treat bag:
Go Between Cinch Top - Dog Bowl

It's about the price of a leather nail pouch, but has the added benefit of being washable and used as a water bowl. They have several sizes.

I haven't bought this RuffWear version---I've been using a similar travel dog bowl from PetCo without the cinchable cover. I attached a carabiner to the travel dog bowl in order to attach to my waist.

I usually use a zip lock bag in my jacket (can get messy if i'm not careful), pants pockets (very messy with soft treats) or one of those cheaper treat pouches from Petsmart or Petco. I'm always trying new things that are less messy than what I currently have but it's not easy to find the perfect treat pouch... We need self-cleaning treat bags :P

Default food "pouch" container

Hi. It's really cold here now and I haven't purchased the ideal pouch yet but here's how I have improvised a disposable "tupperware" container to hold the food and made outdoor feeding/pushing possible: I took a 16 oz. disposable food storage container from the cupboard, poked two holes 1 inch from the top rim and 1 inch apart from each other using an ice pick (please be careful doing this!). I put some rope-like string, about 8 inches long through the holes from the inside of container to the outside. I put on my boots, coat, headband (it's way-cold here) and a leather belt. Then I tie the container to the belt on my right side and put the food in it. Then I put on thinner winter gloves and a non-latex medical glove over my food hand glove and head out with my dog for his pushing session. Works great and will suffice til I get more sophisticated.

sounds good! Lately, I've been using an apron to put the food in, either some type of hardware store apron (without the top part) or a regular apron for cooking. For the amount of food my own dog needs, it's big enough... lol

Default pouch needs to be sanitizable for raw food

So my invention was based on my need to have a container I can sanitize since I feed raw to my dog. But I'll look at pouches next time I'm at the hardware store since I could probably line it with a plastic bag I can throw away which I prefer not to do...we seem to acquire plenty of them buying fresh veggies an I have to use the to pick up poop on our walks so...I may as well use them on both ends of the food cycle The easier the prep is the better at this stage since it takes me so long already to get dressed for the outdoors!
