Default Frustrating sometimes

One of the most frustrating elements of ndt is trying to hold your tongue in situations where people propose ideas about what's going on inside the dogs head, thinking wise,
proposing thoughts for actions seem to be second nature to humans and i've got to a stage where i dont bother anymore, its just not worth the hassle of trying to break down the dogs actions according to where it fits in the canine drive process or otherwise,
i think its probably the biggest issue ndt runs into,,
any thoughts most welcome,

Ya, I get all sorts of commentary

"Oh isn't he a dominant dog!"

"Oh look he's soooo protective of his mom!"

"He just wants to say hello to my dogs!"

My favorite: "Oh, no you really should try to not treat him after he barks like that!"

I get questions about why I am making him struggle to climb a high surface - I tell them he's my hiking parter (true!) and sometimes that means climbing rocks (true!) so he has to learn

After a while, I stopped feeling the need to explain or reply. I'll say "Yep he's my good little barker!" and move on.

Yeah, it can be frustrating. I just keep statements short and matter of fact, rather than try to explain anything at all. If someone says something about a dog being dominant, I just say, there's no such thing as dominance. If someone says their dog is thinking, I just say, dogs don't think, they feel. I try to leave them hanging rather than try to actually explain anything. And if someone finds those statements intriguing, they'll ask more about it. If not, they'll just be on their way.

Default Waste of time.

I usually don't say anything and just remain silent because it’s a waste of time. Almost everyone already "knows" what's going on, after all they just finished watching a Dog Whisperer marathon. I do feel bad for the dogs though and sometimes I can’t help myself and will throw a comment in if they are being a little too tough guy/gal for my taste. Nothing better than to watch someone spank a dog or repeatedly pin it to the ground. If I think someone is a little interested in their dog I’ll send them to the website since I used to be that person but I doubt any actually visit.
