Default Separation Anxiety

Lou seems to now have some separation anxiety or owner addiction problems in the house when I leave him.

I crate him when I leave about 75% of the time. But yesterday I was leaving him out with Rudy. I homecook food for them and gave them each a bowl of the liquid from their food (too early for dinner!) which is usually a big treat for them. I put the bowl down for Lou and turned to leave. He left the food bowl to race me to the door and then screached and scratched at the closed door.

This is new.

In the last couple of weeks we have made huge strides with biting and tug. He'll play tug with me just about any time or any where. He'll jump on me to get the tug toy and I've even done push/tug with him a few times.

We've also come a long way in relaxing under stress.

I work from home so I'm home 95% of the time. On occasion, I crate him while I'm home just to get a break. He's already on an attention diet.

What gives?
